Performance of Physical Channel Multiplexing Using Symbol Repetition in Every Time Slot for Full Duplex

(in English) In full duplex (FD), which improves spectrum efficiency and achieves flexible resource assignment between the uplink and downlink, the throughput cannot be improved to an ideal level due to self-interference (SI) from a transmitter when traffic loads are symmetric between the downlink and uplink. This paper investigates the effect of symbol repetition in every slot, which we recently proposed, on the signal-to-interference plus noise power ratio (SINR) at a demodulator input after SI suppression assuming the radio frame structure based on New Radio (NR) radio interface for FD. We first show that the maximum allowable input power of analog-to-digital converter doesn’t affect the SINR at a demodulator input. Then, we present the improvement in the SINR at a demodulator input and the resultant throughput when applying symbol repetition in every slot for some sets of subcarrier spacing and slot structures for FD with an asymmetric traffic distribution.
