Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We have engaged in the research and development (R&D) of technology to select the optimal wireless communication system and transmission parameters taking account for radio environment. In this R&D, we have investigated the current situations of noise emission at various locations in unlicensed bands such as 5 GHz, 2.4 GHz, and 920 MHz bands that IoT devices mainly use, and we have observed signals from unknown source in several places. We therefore are studying a method to estimate the position of the transmission source using only a receiver that can measure received signal strength indication (RSSI). In this paper, we introduce some measurement results of noise, and explain the proposed analytical method to determine the position of an unknown signal source.
