| (in English) | In some watermarking schemes for PDF document, the spaces between words and characters are slightly modified to embed watermark. A set of space lengths are extracted from each line of the PDF document, and the set of space lengths are transformed into the frequency domain for data embedding. Considering the robustness and secrecy of the selected frequency components, the quantization index modulation (QIM) watermarking method is combined with the dither modulated (DM). In this paper, we investigate the DM operation and propose an improved method by selecting the best secret key among some candidates. The information about the selection is also embedded as side information so that the proposed method can extract watermark without referring to the information of the original PDF document. The amount of distortions caused by embedding is quantitatively measured in our experiment. It is revealed that the gain in the proposed method is increased with the number of secret key candidates. | |
