Investigation of a configuration of LPWA sensor network for agriculture using energy harvesting
Junxiao Dai, Masashi Sugano (Osaka Pref Univ) SeMI2019-10
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Many researches aimed at improving the efficiency of agriculture by measuring the temperature, the amount of sunshine, etc. using a sensor network have been conducted extensively. Since management of many sensors installed in farmland is not easy, it is expected to use energy harvesting which does not require time-consuming operations such as battery replacement. Also, various LPWA technologies have become widespread as means for realizing long-distance communication at low cost. In this study, we proposed a system for collecting data of sensing and communication EnOcean sensor in energy harvesting on Arduino field server and storing it on cloud by Sigfox, and evaluated it in real environment. As a result, we show that low cost sensor networks can be realized that do not require long-term management.
