[Poster Presentation] Reduction of size and excess noise of continuous-variable quantum key distribution system using single-path interferometer

(in English) It is necessary to reduce excess noise in order to realize continuous quantum key distribution (CV- QKD) in a channel with a large optical loss. The purpose of this research is to reduce excess noise of continuous quantum key distribution system using a single optical-path interferometer where the signal light and local oscillator light always travel the same optical path. In the single optical-path configuration, it is expected that the change in the relative phase between the signal light and the local oscillation light is small even if there exists mechanical vibrations, and the configuration is suitable for a long distance or free space quantum channel. In this paper, we report the simplification of the optical system and improvement of the polarization extinction ratio which is an important parameter for reducing the excess noise of the single optical path configuration. By simplifying the optical system we could reduce the size of the transmitter and receiver. Using this system, quantum key distribution was performed over a 40 km optical fiber.
