[Invited Talk] Analysis and Control of Nonlinear Dynamical Systems via the Koopman Operator
Yoshihiko Susuki (Osaka Pref. Univ.) CCS2018-56
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The Koopman operator is a composition operator defined for a large class of nonlinear dynamical systems.
Even if a target dynamical system is nonlinear, the associated Koopman operator is linear but infinite-dimensional (evolving in a function space). This operator does not rely on any linearization and fully captures statistical and geometric properties of the target nonlinear system under a certain condition. This talk is presented in a tutorial fashion and provides recent advances in Koopman operator theory for analysis and control of nonlinear dynamical systems. Our discussion begins with a brief introduction to the Koopman operator and its spectrum. We then introduce recent studies on Koopman operator theory with a connection to data-driven applications, especially in power and energy systems.
