This paper proposes improvement of computer automated marking system for online handwritten math answers employing machine recognition. Descriptive questions are indispensable for measuring the student's thinking ability and deep understanding, but marking this type of questions still requires large effort for teachers, so we proposed and developed computer automated marking system to solve it. However, the performance of current system still needs to be improved on mismarking rate and marking time. In order to solve them, we try to propose new improvement scheme to improve system from marking method, marking mode and answers’ judgment three parts. In order to reduce marking errors, we imported new features into system, and improved old answers’ judgment. In order to reduce marking time, we changed the previous marking process and made automatically marking and manual marking can be executed at the same time. This paper also presents a small scale experiment to show the possibility of new scheme. |
