A Decoupling Method for 3 Element Monopole Antennas by Using a Short Stub

(in English) Recently, MIMO technology using multiple antennas is used to get high speed communication. If MIMO antennas are put closely, the strong mutual coupling which causes decreasing of communication capacity occurs. Therefore, reducing the mutual coupling between MIMO antennas is required.
In this report, we propose the decoupling method for 3 elements monopole antennas assuming 3×3 MIMO by using a short stub. The proposed method can remove connecting antennas and reduce lumped elements. We confirmed that the proposed model reduces element coupling factor S21 by 13.4 dB and S31 by 7.5 dB, and improves the radiation efficiency by -2.5 dB at both ends and by -4.1 dB at central antenna.
