The system reproducing pseudo-food experiences by giving plural visual and haptic stimuli in addition to single taste stimulation

(in English) In this paper, we describe experiments in which subjects were given a single taste stimulus with multiple visual and haptic stimuli. For visual stimuli, we used a 3D model of food, and haptic stimuli were presented to the oral cavity through a mouthpiece that expressed food texture. The food to be expressed was three kinds of fruits, apple, grape and strawberry. The liquid was made to have sweetness and acidity for taste stimulation. Two experiments were conducted. In the first experiment, stimuli expressing each fruit were presented as a combination of taste stimuli and visual stimuli, taste stimuli and haptic stimuli, and taste stimuli and visual stimuli and haptic stimuli, and the results were compared. In the second experiment, the fruits to be expressed were presented including combinations of different visual and haptic stimuli, and the effects of differences between visual and haptic stimuli were investigated.
