There are individual differences in motor learning ability; learning rate and/or level of achievement differ from person to person. In this study, we investigated the resting-state brain activity associated with motor learning ability in a force field. We measured subjects’ resting-state brain activity using fMRI and then made the subjects perform reaching movements in a force field. Correlation analysis showed that the posterior parietal region and the cerebellum were significantly correlated with motor learning. These results suggest that greater activation of the posterior parietal region and/or cerebellum in the resting state improves motor learning in a force field. |
