Recently, communication systems using beams that carry orbital angular momentum (OAM) have gathered much attention for ultra-high-capacity point to point (P2P) wireless communication systems such as mobile back-haul and fronthaul. We have proposed OAM-MIMO multiplexing technique, which effectively combines OAM and traditional multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) based digital signal processing using multiple uniform circular array antenna. In this paper, we introduce theoretical background of our OAM-MIMO multiplexing system, and demonstrate our experimental setup and a successfully 120 Gbps wireless transmission in 28 GHz frequency band. |
