Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) It is reported that human walking speed is increased by Sacral Electrical Stimulation (SES). In one of the hypotheses it is attributed to the subjective pushed feel from the back. In this research, we verified those hypotheses by comparing lower limbs EMG during walking that became faster due to SES, to the EMG during walking with the same speed without SES. Also, we confirmed EMG of leg muscles that were greatly affected by SES. As a result, we found that the change in walking speed by SES is not necessarily attributed to conscious action. Also, we found that SES greatly affects the thigh muscles compared to the shank muscles.
