Towards a development of multiplayer coloring game to cultivate Computational Thinking
Kakuto Koja, Hiroshi Igaki (OIT)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Along with making the programming education at elementary schools compulsory, many educational games are being developed with the aim of fostering computational thinking.
We propose a two player game which incorporates elements of program understanding.
In our game, a player creates a program combining the arrows to move his piece in order to fill the board with his own color. In the second move, the player can watch and edit the program created in the first move so as to be advantageous to himself.
We compared the game described in this paper with those which omitted functions related to the program understanding.
The result showed editing the opponents program may have a greater influence on player's program understanding during playing our game.
