The orchestrator is a core component of Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) to manage a whole system. It must estimate the latency of other components to serve the required quality of service. However, the computational latency in an edge server is too complicated that the orchestrator has a high challenge to get the precise estimation. The inaccurately estimated latency can lead to many numerical errors to the orchestrator. This work proposes an efficient method, named statistical policy, to estimate the latency in the edge server for the orchestrator by using the statistical analysis. The policy extracts the distribution of latency, then create a model to get the probability. The evaluation was done in both simulation and prototype. |
