An improved LLF scheduling for reducing heap memory consumption in multiprocessor real-time system by considering laxity time

(in English) Real-time embedded systems are often designed as multitasking systems in order to improve responsiveness to multiple external input and they are often implemented in multiprocessor in order to achieve both low power consumption and high-performance.However, when the tasks are suspended for switching to the other task, multitasking systems often increase heap memory consumption allocated for temporal use because the allocated memories for tasks often remain allocated simultaneously.Therefore, it is desirable to be able to perform scheduling to reduce heap memory consumption.On the other hand, it is generally known that schedulability is higher in LLF scheduling than in EDF scheduling in real-time scheduling algorithms under multiprocessor environments.In this paper, we propose an improved real-time scheduling algorithm based on LLF scheduling to reduce heap memory consumption of real-time multitasking system.
