This study evaluates the performance and the security of ring oscillator physical unclonable function (RO PUF) implemented on application specific integrated circuit (ASIC). For the PUF performance evaluation, randomness, steadiness, diffuseness, and uniqueness were evaluated by using 5 ASICs. Experimental results showed that RO PUF implemented on ASIC had good performance. For the security evaluation, a modeling attack using genetic algorithm was performed. Modeling attack results showed that more than 96 % of responses were predicted by using 50,000 challenge and response pairs. |
