[Invited Lecture] Field Test of Orbital Angular Momentum Mode Multiplexing Transmission in E-BAND

(in English) Much attention is paid to Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) of electromagnetic wave to execute the multiplexing radio communication. There are a lot of reports about them. In this report, the results of field test of OAM mode multiplexing transmission in E-BAND is shown. The field test over the distance of 40m is performed using the E-BAND experimental equipment we developed. The antenna size for the OAM mode multiplexing transmission is large for the transmission distance, and the distance is the Fresnel region. Therefore large reflections occurred from the antenna aperture and they degrade the performance of OAM mode multiplexing transmission. When the reflections were removed, 8-OAM mode multiplexing transmission with 256 QAM was achieved.
