In recent years, obesity has become a social problem, and about half of adult males are reported as patients or reserve groups. A diagnosis based on the visceral fat mass is performed. However, in the conventional measuring method, special equipment such as Computer Tomography(CT) is required, and problems such as cost and invasiveness exist. Therefore, in normal health checkups, the length of the waistline is used as the diagnostic criteria. However, there are obesity that can not be found only around the fuselage. Therefore, it is reported to be effective to use the abdominal circumference shape as a method for estimating visceral fat mass. In this paper, we propose a system to estimate the abdominal girth of a wearer using a belt type brace, implement, and a prototype system evaluate a prototype system. A user experiment is performed to estimate the abdominal circumference shape of the subject for six subjects, in the way abdominal girth shape measured using the measuring board was compared with the presumed abdominal circumference shape. As a result, when the circumference of the wearer's abdomen is in the range of 63.8 to 95.6mm, the relative error is at most about 4.2%. |
