Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) 4K/8K broadcasting with the BSAT-4a satellite began in Dec. 2018. This broadcasting adopts the ISDB-S3 technical standard and uses the 16APSK modulation scheme. When using 16APSK, the operating point of the TWTA installed in the satellite should be considered, since its modulated signal has the AM and PM property. This paper reports on the transmission characteristics of ISDB-S3 in BSAT-4a, which were evaluated just before the start of 4K/8K broadcasting.
