Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) As mobile terminals such as smartphones explosively spread, mobile traffic’s volume also continues to increase. Along with this, demands for technological evolution of high-speed wireless LAN, which is mainly responsible for offloading mobile traffic, are increasing year by year. One of the studies has been extensively evaluated on cognitive radio which realizes high speed by detecting "un-used frequency" within the range not hindering the primary radio station and reusing it. In our works, we consider to apply un-used frequency reuse technology to wireless LAN in cognitive radio. In order to efficiently reuse the un-used frequency, it is necessary to perform broadband and multi-directional carrier senses, but it is difficult to perform these within a prescribed time. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a method to detect the availability of frequency channel in multiple directions with high efficiency by carrying out carrier sense based on the information and sharing the results immediately. In the proposed method, the frequency channel and the direction of the three-dimensional space at each terminal are specified from the statistical information of each frequency band and frequency utilization rate in multiple directions acquired beforehand. Moreover, computer simulation evaluations show that each transceiver is able to acquire broad bandwidth by selecting the most continuous frequency band from among the free frequency channels detected by the proposed method even when the number of wireless LAN devices increases and the influence of radio interference increases.
