The objective of this work is to develop a monitoring system which collects biogeocenosis information with wireless networks from sensors attached on creatures in a river and to provide the information for a cloud system. The monitoring system sends data from underwater sensors to a node placed on the bank of a river, relays the data to a wireless base station. The base stations are connected with wireless multihop networks each other, and one of the base stations operates as a gateway to forward data to the web server through a mobile network. We first review previous studies, and then present the outline of the system, including wireless multihopping and data synchronizing functions. Then, we show some field experimental results, and discuss availability of wireless networks for underwater monitoring. |
