A Speaker Recognition Performance Measure based on the Adaptation Quickness and Final Accuracy for Spoken Dialog Systems

(in English) For constructing user friendly spoken dialog system, it is important to recognize "Who is the user?" and to choose appropriate behaviors. For this purpose, not only the speaker recognition accuracy but also the quick response are needed. This paper introduces the 2-dimensional performance measurement for the GMM-supervector-based speaker recognition system based on the adaptation quickness and final accuracy. The speaker recognition accuracy is a function of the quantity of adaptation data uttered by the session user. The system approximates the function as an exponential-based saturation curve with 3 parameters. The 1st parameter is the inverse of the data quantity for reducing recognition errors to half. It represents the "adaptation quickness." The 2nd parameter relates the initial accuracy and is not so important. The 3rd parameter represents the "final accuracy." This paper also describes a study of GMM supervector spaces using this 2-dimensional measurement.
