GBAS (Ground-Based Augmentation System) is one of air navigation systems using GPS. The environment evaluation of GBAS at new Chitose Airport is performed by Technical Management Center, Civil Aviation Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. The reference station is installed near the runway in this evaluation to consider installation of GBAS at the small or medium scale airport. We analyzed the GPS data acquired at the reference station, and confirmed a decline of received GPS signal power to depend on a takeoff and landing aircraft. We concluded that the distance from the runway as well as the distance from the building which becomes a multipath source were important as the condition to select an installation site. |
