In this paper, we developed a saccade type line display with 64 LEDs which realized high speed flashing. The developed line display consists of four printed circuit boards that are flashed 16 LEDs and an AVR microcomputer which transfers image data to each circuit board. In order to recognize a 2D image by saccade, it is necessary to flash the LEDs at high speed, so all the transfers of image data were processed in parallel. As a result, the refresh time of one line image could be shorten to 42 μs in the case of maximum speed. We found that the most perceivable flashing period was about 3 ms from experiment. |
