In recent years, researches for applying signal-processing techniques based on sparse reconstruction andcompressed sensing to DOA (Direction-Of-Arrival) estimation of radio waves have been actively conducted. As oneof the optimization algorithms, ISTA (Iterative Shrinkage-Thresholding Algorithm) employing the steepest gradientmethod is used. In this algorithm, the signal parameters are searched through iterative updating with a constantstep size in the gradient direction, so it takes much time to converge. On the other hand, the conjugate gradient(CG) method is conventionally known as an optimization algorithm with fast convergence, which actually can per-form high-speed parameter searching by using the conjugate properties of search vectors. In the previous papers, the authors proposed two-step search method in which the two algorithms are combined, and it was shown that theestimation accuracy could be improved by using ISTA at the first step and CG method at the second step. In thispaper, the condition used for convergence is examined to improve further the performance of the two-step searchmethod. As a result, it is confirmed that the estimation accuracy is significantly improved and also the computationtime is considerably reduced when setting the convergence condition appropriately. |
