Performance Improvement of Radio Holography-Based DOA Estimation with Cyclic Correlation by Using SAGE Algorithm

(in English) In recent years, the methods which can estimate the direction-of-arrival (DOA) with a simple array system are desired, and the radio holography method is expected as one of them. In radio holography, complex signals received by array elements are derived from correlation values between the reference antenna signals and each array element signal which is obtained by switching the array elements one after another. Also, the DOA estimation of the desired waves can be performed by introducing the cyclic correlations based on the cyclostationarity of digital modulation signals to correlation calculation with reference antennas. However, due to the generation process of the correlation matrix in this method, unnecessary correlation terms which degrade DOA estimation accuracy are generated. In this paper, we try to reduce residual interference wave components and the unnecessary correlation terms by applying cyclic correlation to the complete data (one wave reception data) generated in SAGE algorithm. As a result of computer simulation, it has been demonstrated that DOA estimation performance of the proposed method is significantly improved.
