Clustering Protocol in Wireless Sensor Networks Using Cuckoo Search and Fuzzy Algorithm
Chiharu Ido, Yuji Sekiya (Tokyo Univ.) CQ2018-84
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is a network formed by a large number of sensor nodes where each node is equipped with a sensor to detect physical phenomena. Maximizing network lifetime is a major objective for designing and deploying a WSN. Clustering sensor nodes is an effective topology control approach helping achieve this goal. In this paper, we present a new method to prolong the network lifetime based on the cuckoo search and fuzzy algorithm. In our protocol, the cluster head selection and routing between the cluster heads are optimized by using the cuckoo search algorithm, and the hot spot problem is solved by using the fuzzy algorithm.
