Study on Performance Improvement of MANET Protocol FORP-SOS for Disaster Relief Communication

(in English) The use of MANET (Mobile Ad-hoc Network) is expected as an alternative communication means when the existing cellular phone communication network becomes unusable due to disaster, base station collapse. However, because the MANET routing protocol is designed based on the assumption that the IP address of the destination terminal is known, communication from a victim’s terminal to the rescuer’s terminal cannot be performed unless the IP address of the rescuer’s terminal is known. In order to solve this problem, we have been proposing AODV-SOS and FORP-SOS which introduced SOS packet with no destination address to MANET routing protocol AODV and FORP, and have been evaluated their communication performance. In this paper, in order to evaluate the effect of the difference in movement of the terminals to FORP-SOS performance, simulation is executed many times by changing random seed value, and the number of simulation times to make fluctuation of results sufficiently small is confirmed. In addition, the results when one of parameters waiting time is changed in detail are described.
