Verification of the Fail-Safe Interlock System for Pneumatic Drive Systems

(in English) he pneumatic drive system as used in this study is used in various fields as high-output equipment utilizing compressed air as a drive power source. However, the pneumatic drive system may endanger humans due to various component failures, dangerous breakdowns (errors) caused by improper control, the end of service life of the system, etc. In order to solve these problems, a fail-safe interlock system for pneumatic drive systems has been proposed[1]. This study conducts an experiment into pressure monitoring utilizing window characteristics, aiming at the practical use of the safety-confirmation type interlock system based on this proposal. Furthermore, this study conducts an experimental verification of the safety function by measuring the outage time based on the confirmation of residual pressure. Incidentally, this study is supported by a subsidy from the JSPS’s grands-in-aid for scientific research JP16k01310.
