Proposal of access method to guarantee transmission opportunities for low-speed stations in wireless LANs

(in English) In order to solve the performance anomaly in a wireless LANs in which a plural transmission rates coexist, an access method aiming for frame transmission time fairness has been proposed. However, since the frame transmission time includes the overhead, the problem has not necessarily been solved. Therefore, in this paper we propose an access method to achieve fairness of payload transmission time. However, when the variation in the transmission rate is large, there arises a problem that transmission opportunities are hardly given to particularly low-rate terminals. To solve this problem, we put weight on the payload transmission time according to the transmission rate. Then, by simulation, we examine the weight to suppress the degradation of the totall throughput while guaranteeing the transmission opportunity of the low-rate terminal.
