Excitation Distribution Control of Two-Element Array Antennas using Decoupling Networks Composed of Lumped Elements

(in English) As a method of decreasing the mutual coupling between small two-element antennas, a simple decoupling network which consists of two series susceptances and a shunt susceptance has been developed. In this paper, we show that the excitation distribution of the antenna elements can be controlled by adding a shunt susceptance and making the values of the two series susceptances asymmetrical. Moreover, we design a two-element T-shaped monopole antenna array with the decoupling network. The two-element monopoles are printed on a substrate whose size is 0.27$lambda$ x 0.27$lambda$, and are allocated perpendicularly to each other. It is confirmed that the antenna gain in the horizontal plane can be increased by controlling the excitation distribution.
