Improving the speech intelligibility of hearing-impaired subjects in an acoustic environment including noise is still a major research topic. We have been studying a single channel noise suppression method for impact noise superimposed on speech when using smartphones and the like. Impact noise is a noise signal whose occurrence timing is unknown and whose change in amplitude is steep. However, in the binaural (double ear wearing type) hearing aid, impact noise occurs at unknown thing, and its amplitude steeply changes. However, the signal channel noise suppression distorts the arrival direction of speech because the acoustic space information can not be preserved. Therefore, in this paper, we extend the impact noise suppression method on single channel to multi-channel approach, improve noise suppression performance by improving noise detection accuracy and preserve the arrival direction of utterance. In the detection of impact noise, the kurtosis is used for the left and right signals in a short frame, and the Multi-channel Wiener Filter (MWF) is used for the suppression method. As a result of computer simulation, it was confirmed that improvement of suppression performance of the proposed method and preservation of arrival direction of utterance are preserved. |
