Using MPTCP with multiple IP addresses assigned to a single interface
Hiroyuki Higuchi, Takashi Imaizumi (Chiba Univ.) IN2018-59
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) MPTCP is an extension of TCP that improves redundancy and throughput by using multiple interfaces and routes. Each of TCP connection is called.subflow. Existing network has problem that LAN in the organization is high speed , but WAN outside the organization is low speed and becomes bottleneck. On this research, to solve this problem, we propose using MPTCP that the source and the destination assign IP addresses to the network
interface as many as creating subflows. Through the proposed method, throughput is improved more than the conventional TCP by using MPTCP effectively using the bandwidth in the WAN even in the environment where the bottleneck exists in the WAN in the path.
