[Poster Presentation] A study on the relationship between channel matrices and communication performance in indoor optical wireless MIMO systems

(in English) In optical wireless MIMO (OWC-MIMO) systems, the channel matrices are controllable by changing design of optical components such as emission angles of LEDs, view angles of PDs, and the structure of the LED/PD arrays. This research aims to clarify the conditions of channel matrices that achieve high communication performance. For this purpose, we first show the influence of communication distance and optical element spacing to channel matrices, and then evaluate the matrices by using channel capacity and error rate as communication measures. As a result, it is shown that uniform matrices rather than diagonal matrices realize better performance under low signal to noise ratio. In addition, we find that a condition number, which is commonly used performance measure of channel matrices, cannot fully express the communication performance.
