Developments of piezoelectric stress sensors using organic ferroelectric films for wireless smart insole

(in English) Smart insole can measure an individual walking pattern that is an important information to live healthily and prevent injury caused by falling for users, especially elderly peoples. In this study, we have investigated pressure sensor characteristics of organic ferroelectric, poly(vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene)(PVDF/TrFE), based piezoelectric devices between and in polyurethane sheets and a block toward the development of wireless smart insoles. When the sheets set on or below the device, different waveforms of output voltage were observed by pressing the samples. For smart insoles embedded with the (PVDF/TrFE)-based sensors, the plantar pressure successfully detects when an adult male walks on the floor.
