Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) [Student Presentation Award]
Hybrid quantum devices consisting of a superconducting qubit and a ferromagnetic crystal inside a microwave cavity have shown promise as candidates for transducing quantum information. By utilizing the dispersive interactions between the subsystems, it is also possible to use such a device for quantum sensing of magnons, the collective spin excitations in the ferromagnet. This approach enables a sensitivity on the order of $10^{-3}$ $mathrm{magnons}/sqrt{mathrm{Hz}}$, demonstrated using Ramsey interferometry. Such measurements utilizing quantum state superposition offer the potential to improve the sensitivity beyond that currently available through other approaches. Such an improvement will be important, for example, to studying dark matter through increasing the accessible search space for axion detection.
