Accuracy assessment of REM sleep detection with variation in pulse rate

(in English) The purpose of this study is to examine and discuss the method for rapid eye movement (REM) sleep by means of pulse rate variation (PRV) and Kullback-Leibler divergence (KLD) in eight young male subjects. As a result, from PRV showed a concordance of 58.1 ± 13.4% and KLD showed a concordance of 80.1 ± 10.4%. Our results show that the KLD-based REM sleep estimation has the ability to detect REM sleep briefly.
