C+L-band wavelength selective switchby alternating arrangement on LCOS

(in English) The increase in communications network traffic has led to a demand for higher transmission capacity. To meet this demand, multi-band transmission is being extensively investigated. For multi-band transmission, many components operating in each wavelength band are individually prepared and separately installed by using WDM couplers. To reduce cost, space, power consumption, an architecture in which multiple devices operate in the multi-band is preferred for future multi-band integrated nodes. In this report, we demonstrate a 2-in-1 1×10 WSS operational in the C+L-band by applying a spatial and planar optical circuit platform to construct a novel multi-band optical system.
