Effective PAPR Reduction Method in OFDM by Using Precoding Matrix

(in English) An OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) signal has a drawback of a high PAPR (Peak to Average Power Ratio). As one of the PAPR reduction methods, the precoding method was proposed.In this method, a low PAPR signal is generated by a multiplication of a matrix generated from ZC (Zadoff-Chu) sequence and a data symbol vector. The effect of the PAPR reduction is constant even when we use another matrix generated by a different parameter. The PTS (Partial Transmit Sequences) method is another PAPR reduction method, we partition subcarriers into some clusters and give some phase rotations in order to generate OFDM signals. We select the OFDM signal with the lowest PAPR.However, a lot of clusters and phase rotations are required in order to increase the effect of the PAPR reduction. As a result, an amount of calculation becomes enormous. The method which combines the PTS method and the precoding method was proposed (conventional method). In this paper, we consider that we apply the precoding method to the PTS method for the purpose of further reducing the PAPR.We show that the proposed method greatly reduces the number of candidate signals. Also, we show that the proposed method obtains a better effect of the PAPR reduction when we compare the proposed method with the conventional method.
