On Doppler Estimation of Fast Moving Targets exceeded Visible Velocity for Millimeter FM-CW Radar

(in English) The Doppler estimation by Pulse-Doppler Radar is realized by measuring phase shift in pulse-train,
and this technique is often used in Frequency Modulated-Continuous Wave (FM-CW) Radar. However, the visible
velocity range is limited by Pulse Repetition Interval (PRI) and fast moving targets exceeded the visible range is
estimated with large error because of aliasing problem. When an observation time is sufficiently long, the velocity
can be easily derived from range estimation results between two points. However, if the observation time is not so
long, the PRI should be short enough to prevent aliasing that is often hard to realize due to hardware limitation at
this moment. In this paper, we consider a correction of the wrapped velocity estimation result. We define a mode
vector to derive the number of wraps by using both fast-time (Range domain) and slow-time (Doppler domain). We
show results of appliying Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC) algorithm to both simulation and experimental
data, consider the efficancy.
