Mechanism and Characteristic Evaluation of Wireless Power Transfer Using Movement or Rotating Magnetic Field

(in English) Research on wireless power transfer is being conducted from various perspectives. The author has studied the possibility of a new usage in a system using magnetic coupling. This paper reports on a wireless power transfer system uses a moving or rotating magnetic field that can change speed and location. Illumination of the LED load group was conceived as a new use scene utilizing weak magnetic field. This directs a large number of LED loads as "waving light". In order to easily realize the undulating emission with respect to the arbitrarily placed LED load at low cost, it was necessary to form a moving magnetic field that continuously changes the magnitude of the magnetic flux crossing the receiving coil of the LED load. With the idea of the new usage of the relay resonant coil and the control method, the formation of the moving and rotating magnetic field was realized and the illumination of the waving light was demonstrated by the behavior analysis and the prototype verification.
