Bidirectional DCDC Converter Using Multistage Bootstrap Driving technique

(in English) This paper presents a bidirectional DCDC converter using by multistage bootstrap driving technique. The proposed driving technique can drive series connected FETs from the low side power supply without any floating power supplies and high-voltage process IC. By using the figure of merit which can estimate converter losses from the specifications of power device, and we show the usefulness of the proposed configuration which using Si-FET instead of SiC-FET. The experimental results have proven that the bidirectional DCDC converter by using the proposed technique can achieve 98% or more power conversion efficiency from 170 W to 1000 W of power range, and a maximum power conversion efficiency of 99.2%.
