Preliminary study on extraction of intervertebral disks from videofluorographic images with convolutional neural network

(in English) This study aims to extract intervertebral disks of cervical vertebras from videofluorographic images in order to elucidate the mechanisms of dysphagia. First, cervical disks are extracted manually from images for learning. Patches with a certain size are set at pixels in the disk regions and are fed into a CNN as positive samples. Then, the patches are set at pixels in the other regions and are fed into the CNN as negative samples. Next, the patches are set on images for testing, and input to the CNN to predict the likelihood of the patches. An experimental result is shown.
