Fast SPFD Analysis with Voxel Averaging Based on Subgrid Method

(in English) In recent years, there have been concerned about the adverse health effect of electromagnetic field exposure at low- and intermediate-frequency. In the guidelines by the International Commission of Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), the relationship between internal physical quantities and external electromagnetic field strength is introduced derived using anatomical numerical human models. The metric used in the evaluation is the internal electric field of 2 x 2 x 2 mm3 cubes. The necessity for considering more detailed structure (e.g., nerve) in the dosimetry may be needed not only for human safety but also for medical application. Thus, anatomical numerical human models with a resolution of 1mm or finer may be needed in future. On the other hand, the computational cost may increase dramatically in such computation. In our previous study, we applied a subgrid method to scalar-potential finite-difference method and evaluated its effectiveness for uniform magnetic-field exposures. In this study, we extended the discussion for the non-uniform exposure. A multilayered sphere model simulating the human head exposed from a small magnetic dipole is considered and then its effectiveness is demonstrated by comparing with Mie analytic solution.
