| (in English) | Automatic segmentation of acoustic events has been studied by using Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC). First sound signals are divided into subframes, and acoustic features are extracted from each of the subframes. BIC values are calculated using the groups of the acoustic features over the multiple subframes. Segmentation is made by evaluating the BIC values computed with different combinations of the subframes.The BIC can be obtained by using various combinations of the features.In this experiment, we examined segmentation performance with two kinds of sound.We found that, though the appropriate segmentations were not made when using a single feature,it was possible when using multiple features. The improvement of the segmentation performance has been evaluated in our elderly person watching system. We found that the detection accuracy was improved in the case where the sound was labeled as "unusual", however, it was not when the sound was labeled as "usual". |
