Conventional fingerprint-based localization techniques may fail to accurately localize targets if their signal parameters such as center frequency, bandwidth and transmit power are unknown during the creation of the fingerprint database. To overcome this issue, several fingerprint-based techniques were previously proposed, which include the frequency and spatial domain interpolations of the training fingerprint database. In this paper, explanation about the hardware implementation in order to realize the above-mentioned system is given, and details on how to construct a multi-frequency database are presented. The implemented hardware and proposed algorithm were evaluated through experiments performed within a university campus. Results confirmed the validity of the proposed system and indicated that it was able to achieve a performance improvement over conventional techniques. |
