In order to realize the high definition broadcast, the use of the higher frequency band is discussed in the next-generation broadcasting satellite system. However, the effect of the rainfall on the satellite link becomes large in accordance with the frequency. Since the electricity used in the satellite system has the strict limitation, we cannot provide the sufficient margin. In our study, the Ka-band of the multi-beam satellite broadcasting system is focused on in order to maintain the link quality. In the proposed methods, first, the following effect of the rain on the link of each beam is predicted with the precipitation data of each beam obtained by AMeDAS. Next, the transmission power of several beams is controlled based on the prediction. In this article, the optimum link availability is shown in order to decide the target link quality. |
