UWB planar antenna with a single band notch characteristic is studied and proposed. The proposed antenna characteristic is compared with a typical UWB planar antenna. The single slit in the elliptical element is considered to generate band notch characteristic. The band notch is characterized to reject the frequency bandwidth between 5 to 6GHz. Thus, Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) which is coexisted with the UWB frequency bandwidth is rejected. Band notch characteristic is simply can be controlled by the slit parameters. The proposed antenna has a simple and compact structure. From the results, the proposed antenna performances are improved when compare with the typical UWB planar antenna. |
