Ischemic cerebrovascular diseases require proper treatment as soon as possible when the symptom appears. Especially it is important to evaluate the existence of an occlusion at a cerebral artery, and a rapid and easy measurement method is required for this purpose. It is known that the pulse wave observed at the carotid artery contains reflected waves from the vascular bed and includes the information of the cerebral artery. In this study, we compared the left and right pulse waveforms of the carotid artery observed at healthy subjects and occlusion patients by a piezoelectric sensor system. As a result, the cerebral artery occlusion could be easily evaluated by comparison of left and right pulse waveforms. |
