Analysis of Suppression Mechanism of Power-bus Resonance Using Lossy Resonator Filter with Pi Equivalent Circuits

(in English) Power-bus resonance of printed circuit board causes propagation of electromagnetic noise and detraction of power integrity. For suppressing the resonance at higher frequencies over 1 GHz, we have proposed a lossy resonator filter consisting of an open stub covered with ferrite thin film as an example. This paper studies suppression of the filter using a three-port pi equivalent circuit to analyze the suppression mechanism of the filter to help in designing the lossy resonator filters. The influence of the filter was evaluated by estimating the synthetic admittance in the case of its presence or absence at 2.4 GHz for wireless communication through full-wave simulation. As a result, the influence between the power-bus on the filter was analyzed as the change in synthetic admittance. Therefore, investigation of the suppression effect by changing the input admittance of the filter helps find the appropriate input admittance and determine the loss of the filter.
